GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN---BOX 7----BACK HOME.

We are now up to BOX 7---BACK HOME.  This box contains TOYS that will help bring to remembrance the Return to Judah.      I do NOT have everything I want to have in this BOX...but, I am always looking and can always add to it.  

Here is what I currently have in this box.  I have Zerubbabel, Ezra, Nehemiah, "TEMPLE" and WALL pieces.  

This is my Zerubbabel---I purchased him at DOLLAR TREE a few years back.   He is really BIG compared to the other two...but, I feel like he does the job.  

This is my EZRA.  (Sorry for the bad picture.)  He is holding a scroll.   

This is my Nehemiah....notice his CUP.  After all he was the Kings Cup-bearer.    I have had this little man for a LOOONG time.  I think he was supposed to be NOAH....but, since I was able to slip a cup into his hand (he used to have a staff) HE immediately became Nehemiah.  :-)    By the way, the cup came out of a doll house miniatures set....I purchased the doll house miniatures at Hobby Lobby.    (It came with two cups and a pitcher---I think it is supposed to be orange juice.  :-))

These items represent the TEMPLE and the WALLS of Jerusalem.  The Temple was a sand toy...It came in some sand toys that I purchased at the Dollar Tree.  The Walls are from different sets...One is from Fisher Price Little People and the other one came with one of the little Bible characters I purchased at Dollar Tree a few years ago.  

These BOXES are great for QUICK REVIEWS....I LOVE bringing out an ITEM and having the KIDDOS tell me the story and tell me WHICH TIME PERIOD the item belongs with....It is also a great way to INTRODUCE and new time period as well as a  great way to REVIEW.

GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN---BOX 5----THE KINGS

Welcome to BOX 5. 

This is our period of the KINGS BOX.

Here is a QUICK PEEK.  

This is what I currently have in this box.  I do NOT have all my little KINGS of JUDAH in the box---they are currently on display on the table, since we are learning about them!  

Here are our KINGS from the UNITED KINGDOM.  King  Saul, King David and King Solomon.   

Notice, I have several item to go along with David.....Sheep, Sling Shot, Bag of Stones, Harp. 

For King Solomon I have the TEMPLE behind him! 

(At some point I hope to find some small donkeys to go along with King Saul.)   

I am sure you can figure out that is the Prophet Elijah ---heading to heaven in a whirlwind....I do not have a chariot, yet.  So, for now I just stuck him in the whirlwind.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

The little windup toys represent PROPHETS, in general....the KIDDOS get sooooo excited when I get them out and we sing, "A PROPHET IS A MESSENGER." 

  

We have a RAVEN---finger puppet---came in a KIDS MEAL.  I have a LARGE FISH and "Jonah" is inside the belly.    I have a WICKED QUEEN---she can be Ataliah or Jezebel depending on which story we are focused upon reviewing.

Isaiah Prophesies The Coming of Jesus

We have a NEW lesson for this Sunday.  We will be leaning about Isaiah prophesying  the Coming of Jesus.  I am excited about this lesson...I get the blessing of showing the KIDDOS one of the FAITH building prophecies of our LORD and SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST!!!  

We will be adding this CARD to our "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN" Time Line.   We will add it under the Isaiah the Prophet Card...That way the KIDDOS understand that this is a PROPHECY of the Coming of JESUS.  

My Visuals for this lesson are very SIMPLE...I am using my "self drawn"  Isaiah with a SPEECH BUBBLE...and a Clip art picture of Baby Jesus in a CLOUD---sort of to represent "IN THE FUTURE."    I think it works.  :-)

We will be adding THREE new words to our "WORD WALL."  I think these are very important WORDS for the KIDDOS to KNOW in order to truly understand the lesson.  

The KIDDOS will have a NEW Memory Verse for this week....  I LOVE this verse....It is so descriptive of our LORD!!

We sung this song  when we learned about Isaiah being "CALLED" to be a PROPHET. We will sing it again this week...It will help the KIDDOS REVIEW the fact that Isaiah was CALLED by GOD to be a PROPHET.  It will help remind the KIDDOS that Isaiah was speaking what GOD wanted him to speak.  He was GOD'S "MOUTH PIECE."

The KIDDOS "TAKE HOME" Project is fairly simple....I am sure you have seen something similar.  

I designed the "stable" on the computer....The BABY JESUS came from Oriental Trading Company.  I believe it went with a different type of project ---I buy a LOT of items from Oriental Trading when they have their Clearance Sales!!!  

During class time the KIDDOS will color their stable and baby Jesus.  They will attach their baby Jesus and STAR to the Stable.    

Our REVIEW GAME is a BINGO STYLE GAME.    

(The cards have questions on them...I will read the question and the PICTURES on the Bingo Card answers the questions!)

Each card has the same pictures on it...they are just arranged in various orders...that way each question is answered on EVERY CARD!!  :-)

I LOVE it when the KIDDOS get to sit on their carpet squares and "PLAY."

I wanted THEMED BINGO MARKERS. So, TA-DA!!!

This is what I "CAME" up with.  I was shopping at HOBBY LOBBY when I saw these little cuties hanging the the Christmas Ornaments for Miniature Trees area.  

So, .I purchased them removed the strings then hot glued them to the green checkers.  I LOVE how they turned out!!!  One of those things that makes me SMILE....Because, it will allow further conversations about our TOPIC!!!

Next week will be our REVIEW week. During REVIEW week the KIDDOS make an activity that they add to their "Explorer Journal."    Because, I use the over all theme of being a "Bible Explorer" we each have an "EXPLORER JOURNAL."

This is the activity that the KIDDOS will be making and adding to their "Explorer Journals." 

They will add the tongue depressor style craft sticks to make the manger.  They will add the  crinkle paper for the "hay."  Then they will add their own Baby JESUS wrapped in SWADDLING CLOTH---(scraps of blue flannel that I had in my scrap box.)

I am REALLY happy with how these turned out...We will be talking about the various descriptions of JESUS...HE is truly WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, EVERLASTING FATHER and the PRINCE OF PEACE.  

I am so excited about this lesson.  I LOVE teaching the OLD TESTAMENT---especially when I am able to show the KIDDOS how the OLD TESTAMENT is fulfilled in the NEW TESTAMENT.  :-)

Isaiah: Called to be GOD'S PROPHET

A new lesson for this upcoming Sunday!!!  We are going to be learning about Isaiah the Prophet.  We will be learning about how he was called by GOD to be a Prophet.  I am so excited about this lesson.  It is such an AMAZING EVENT!!

Our Who? What? When? Where? Where? Why? and How Is this important to me? Cards are in place and ready for Sunday.

Our interactive BULLETIN BOARD WALL is become VERY FULL!!!!  I LOVE it when the KIDDOS use the BULLETIN BOARD wall to FIND information to answer questions.  That is the PURPOSE to this WALL.  It is FULL of information to help the KIDDOS (and me) remember what we have learned. 

We have two new words to add to our WORD WALL.    I want to make sure the KIDDOS know what COAL and TONGS are.  No confusion means better understanding of the lesson.  

We have a NEW CARD to add to our "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN for MAN"  Wall.  

The KIDDOS MEMORY VERSE comes directly from the Lesson Text.  They will probably have this one memorized before leaving the classroom on Sunday.  

We have a NEW SONG to learn this week.  I am excited about this song.  I know the KIDDOS will LOVE it.  It is my goal to have a song to go with EVERY lesson that I teach.

Isaiah Was a Prophet Song--by Ronda Duvall

The KIDDOS will be making "COAL" as their TAKE HOME project.    This is made out of an air dry clay made by Crayola.  I just formed LUMPS of COAL and let them dry...PAINTED them to look like hot coal and walla...COAL!  :-)  During class time the KIDDOS will add the STICK ON EYES and FLAG that has "Here Am I, Send Me!" printed on it. We will assist with gluing the FLAG into the hole.  I think it turned out CUTE and will be a GREAT REMINDER of this lesson.  

For our REVIEW GAME we will be playing a HOT COALS Pick Up Game.  The KIDDOS will use the TONGS you see in the pictures and PICK up a piece of Hot Coal.  The Coal has question on the bottom side....they will have to ANSWER the question they PICKED...if they do not know the answer they have to PUT it back on the Altar.  

The ALTAR is made from a small crate---I picked it up at WALMART and painted it GOLD.  

The TONGS came from HOBBY LOBBY.  I found them in the PARTY SECTION. 

The COAL is made out of Crayola Model Magic.  I just formed them and let them dry.  Then painted them...They are very LIGHT and will be easy for the KIDDOS to lift with the TONGS.  

I printed the QUESTION on STICKER paper and stuck them to the bottom of the "COAL."  I tried writing on the coal with a silver sharpie...and it worked...I just write REALLY BIG.  If you write small then you can write directly on the piece of "COAL."

Next week the KIDDOS will be making these to add to their EXPLORER JOURNAL.  The COAL came from ORIENTAL TRADING....It is COAL GUM and a "GROW in WATER" coal mixture.  I would just suggest that you coat them with modge podge to keep them from crumbling way.  

Due to my RUSHING to get the website updated---I FORGOT to share our VISUALS with you....I am sooo sorry. 


















Our visual aid is made out of Clip Art, Laminate, a Copy Paper Box Lid, and Plastic Caps.  OH, and I added a piece of "COAL" to the Seraphim's tongs.  It is the same "Grow In Water Coal" that the KIDDOS will be using next week on their Explorer Journal Activity Page.   













I love using clip art for visuals...because, sometimes it is hard to find visuals for certain Bible stories.    I am happy with the way this visual aid turned out...I can't wait to teach this lesson this Sunday!!!

I am excited about teaching this LESSON.  I know the KIDDOS will be intrigued with all the happenings of Isaiah being called to be GOD'S Prophet.
