Baby Toy Turned Bible Time Period Review!!! Early Arriver Activity

I was SO excited when I found this little GEM at the Dollar General Store!!!!   I have seen different STACKING toys...but this one was PERFECT!!!  It is PERFECT because it came with 10 Stacking Cups!!!!!  You see,  I needed exactly 10 cups for what I wanted to "TURN IT IN TO."

I wanted this to be a QUICK and FUN way for the KIDDOS to PRACTICE putting the  "GOD'S PLAN for MAN" in order.  It will be a GREAT way to REVIEW with all the KIDDOS....OR a great independent, Early Arriver Activity.  (EAA)

Before Time Began...GOD had a plan!
I used PRINTABLE sticker paper to make this activity.  As, you can see I did add a STICKER in the CENTER of each of these CUPS.  That allows for discussion of this time period and an easy way for KIDDOS to remember the events surrounding the 'TIME Period.'

Patriarchal Time Period
Mosaical Time Period
Each of these STACK up on each other!!  So simple and yet, so useful.

The Kings/United and Divided
Joshua/Judges
I am thinking we may even play a game with these...I will pass out the CUPS and then we will see if the KIDDOS can figure out WHO has then next TIME period to STACK UP.

Exiled
Back Home in Judah
It will be a GREAT WAY to REVIEW/TEST the KIDDOS memory.  I will also ask the KIDDOS to tell me WHO is holding the "TIME PERIOD" we are currently studying from?

Jesus
The Early Church

So MANY possibilities!!!  Something so inexpensive ($4) has become something that we will find very VALUABLE!

The Early Church
We Work Today

I love that this activity is "Self Checking."  The KIDDOS will quickly be able to tell if they are STACKING the incorrect one...because, it wont fit!

I LOVE the BRIGHT COLORS!!!!  (I just may have to go back and get another one of these STACKING TOYS...I am thinking I may want to make a Tower of Babel Review Game.)    I'll let you know if I do....LOL

I LOVE the CONVENIENT way of STORING this!!!!  Just STACK it all together and store it away until the NEXT time!!  :-)

My encouragement to you....Always be thinking..."Can I use this in Bible Class?" Bible Class resources do not always start out as Bible Class resources...Just, keep an opened mind.

Blessings,

Ronda

KIDDOS Draw their FAVORITE STORY from the Kings of Israel

I LOVE KIDDOS!!!  I LOVE it when KIDDOS draw pictures!!!  I LOVE it when KIDDOS draw pictures about BIBLE STORIES!!!

I wanted to share with you some of the PICTURES my KIDDOS drew on our REVIEW SUNDAY.  You see, I told the KIDDOS they could draw their FAVORITE STORY  from the Lessons we had on the Northern Nation/Kings of Israel.

Then I had the KIDDOS tell me WHAT they drew--I label the picture.  Then the KIDDOS had to tell me the STORY from their picture.  I wrote down the words of the KIDDOS.

This picture was drawn by one of the BOYS in my class.  He just turned 6.  He LOVED the story of NAAMAN!!!   I love that he remembered that the Jordan River was dirty.

This picture is by my oldest KIDDO.  She is 7.  She LOVED the story of Jonah.  I LOVE this picture!!

This picture was drawn by one of the GIRLS in my class.  She really loved the story of NAAMAN.  I LOVE the FLOCK of yellow birds.  (I had to ask here what those were.  :-))

This picture was drawn by a 5 year old little girl. I was wondering what she was drawing...After, she began to explain her picture, I was so excited.  She drew the story of Elisha making an Axe Head Float.  She even remembered that Elisha tossed a stick into the Jordan to cause the Axe Head to float.

This picture really excited me.  This little boy is barely 4.  When he began drawing the red circles I was not sure...then he drew the BLUE for Heaven and the Green Man is Elijah and that Square Scribble of blue is his Chariot!!!!  I was in awe as he began telling me the story using his picture as his "visual aid."

BTW, Just wanted to let you know--I laminated each of these drawings.  They are so PRECIOUS!!!   I am thinking about keeping them long enough to buy some inexpensive 8x10 frames and then FRAMING their ARTWORK and then let them give it to their Dad  as a Father's Day Gift.

Allowing the KIDDOS to FREE DRAW me a story allowed me to TEST the KIDDOS.  I was very PLEASED with their ability to RECALL and RETELL me the stories!!!  This is one HAPPY BIBLE CLASS Teacher!!!!

Personal White Boards Make GREAT Teaching Aides.

As you know, I ALWAYS have some sort of EAA (Early Arrivers Activity) for my KIDDOS.  I usually have the same EAA for 2 weeks.  I try to CHANGE out the EAA'S often...yet keep a bit of consistency during a particular lesson.

If this is your first time coming to the HANDS ON BIBLE TEACHER website, let me explain what EAA'S are....If you have been here before, just SKIP ahead!  :)

I believe it is very important to use EVERY minute of Bible Class time as TEACHABLE Moments.  From the second a KIDDO comes into the room....it is time to be teaching.   And,  do to the fact that I have several "EARLY ARRIVERS" I want to make sure to have something that is relevant to BIBLE LEARNING for the KIDDOS to do....Thus became the need for EAAS.

By the way, these PERSONAL size whiteboards came from LOWES.  I purchased a LARGE sheet of WALL BOARD and then had the very sweet and helpful guy, that ran the saw at the store, cut them down to size for me.  There were several cuts that had to be made....but, when I explained that they were for teaching Bible Class...they did not even charge me for all that cutting!!!  (We now have these personal whiteboards in every classroom!!!!!)

This past Sunday I wanted the KIDDOS to draw me a picture of their Favorite story about David.  So, before Bible Class I coded each board with "Favorite Story About David."    When the KIDDOS arrived they were instructed to draw their FAVORITE STORY about the life of David.

He really enjoyed DRAWING me a picture of his Favorite Story About David.  This KIDDO decided to draw a picture of KING David singing Psalms to The LORD.   I LOVE David's ROBE and CROWN!!!...and the "LO, LO, LO, LO, LO, LO" is David Singing.  (I LOVE KID DRAWINGS!!!)

This KIDDO decided to draw me a picture of David and Jonathan.  She says she LOVES that they were BFF'S.  I LOVE her drawing!!!!   She said Jonathan needed curly hair!!!!  :)

I was impressed at how much the KIDDOS remembered about the life of David.    Even though the KIDDOS were having FUN drawing....this gave me an opportunity to SEE what the had learned about the life of King David.  This was a way of TESTING my past teaching....gives me a way to know if they are really "GETTING" the lessons I am teaching.   These "TESTS" are fun...and the KIDDOS do not even realize I am "TESTING" their memory!!!  :)

I always try to find FUN and EXCITING ways to make sure the KIDDOS remember their past lessons.  This just happens to be one of my FAVORITES!!

Blessings,
