Divisions of The Bible Stepping Stones

I am excited to share this with y'all!!    I bought these stepping stones back at Christmas time.

I bought them as a gift for myself/my KIDDOS!!!

As soon as they came up in my AMAZON recommendations I knew I "needed" them and what I was going to do with them.

Just for clarity, I bought two sets and bought them as an "OPEN BOX" warehouse deal.  I have look them up since then and they are more expensive that what they were when I bought them.

This is what they are called on Amazon:  Kids Balance Stepping Stones, 5pc Stackable Wave Blocks Indoor and Outdoor Exercise Coordination and Stability, Rainbow Crossing River Stone for Children Boys Girls

As soon as they arrived in the mail, I did some altering to them.  I used a Sharpie Marker and wrote a Division of the Bible on Each Stone.

LAW, HISTORY, POETRY, MAJOR PROPHETS, MINOR PROPHETS, GOSPEL, HISTORY, PAUL'S  EPISTLES, GENERAL EPISTLES AND PROPHESY.

The KIDDOS use them to review the divisions of the the Bible and  which books go in which division of the Bible!!   Example:  If I say "RUTH" one of the KIDDOS will go and stand on the OLD TESTAMENT "HISTORY" stone.

They are great for an Early Arriver Activity and a General Review.

I have even used them as a PLACE for the Kiddos to stand.  For EXAMPLE:  I would say, "Molly please go stand on GOSPELS."  The KIDDOS have really enjoyed using these as a way of learning and reviewing!!

The stepping stones are perfect for stacking too!!  They don't have to be left laying around,  If you want to stack them up and put them in the corner of the room they are easy to stack.

The KIDDOS love to stack them in the correct order!  This makes them a multi-purpose learning tool!!!

I'm always looking for fun ways to teach the KIDDOS things they need to know.  If I come up with something, see something or am shown something, I try to share the ideas with others.  Please know, I DO NOT receive any compensation for sharing this product!!  I'm simply sharing the product, because I have found it to be beneficial in teaching BIBLE truths, stories, or facts.

Blessings,

Ronda

Jesus Calms The Sea!

Our continuing Exploration through the Life of Jesus Has brought us to the time when Jesus performs a miracle.

JESUS CALMS THE SEA!!

We added NEW CARDS to our DO You Know? Wall.  My Expectation is for the KIDDOS to be able to answer each of these by the end of the lesson.

We had three new words to add to our WORD WALL.  I chose AMAZED, PERISHING, and MULTITUDE.

Those are important words for the KIDDOS to understand for this lesson to make more sense to them.

We Added a NEW Card to our GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN Timeline!!

Our MEMORY VERSE  was   Mark 4:39!

To hear the MEMORY VERSE song click on this link.  Memory Verse Song Mark 4:29

This is the SONG we learned with this lesson.  This is an easy song with a very familiar tune.

The  song can be heard by clicking the following link.  "Peace Be Still" Song by Ronda Duvall

The Kiddo's TAKE-HOME  project was exciting.   The KIDDOS each received a "ship in a bottle" to take home with them.   To complete the activity the KIDDOS added the scripture reference around the neck of the bottle.  I have the scripture reference laying across the top of this bottle....but, in class they glued them around the neck/cap area of the bottle.

I made these by using blue food coloring, water and baby oil.  I did glue the caps of each bottle shut...did not want them coming open in any way!!!!!

If you click this link you can see how we made WAVES with our bottle.   Peace Be Still Ship In A Bottle....The kiddos loved making the waves and then stopping the waves as we sang our song!! clicking on the picture will NOT open the FB page....please click the link.

This KIDDOS  REVIEW Game this week was sort of a Dramatization game!

The KIDDOS answered a question from the lesson for the opportunity to make a STORM.

We used a big blue sheet with a toy boat in the middle.  The KIDDOS all held onto the sheet and once we got a correct answer they would raise and lower their arms to make WAVES and make blowing and swish sounds.

I would then say, "HE SAID, PEACE BE STILL!" and they would immediately STOP!!

Then we repeated the process with the next KIDDOS opportunity to answer a question.  The Kiddos LOVED this!!!!!!!

As you know, the second week of the LESSON is when we REVIEW.  It gives me opportunity to correct any misunderstandings.  It  also, gives opportunities for the KIDDOS who missed class the first week to "CATCH UP."  This is the Week we SAY our MEMORY VERSE from MEMORY and We do an ACTIVITY we add to our EXPLORER JOURNAL.

This LESSON'S EXPLORER JOURNAL ACTIVITY was a busy one....The Kiddos added the sails, the "people", and the cotton.

They enjoy doing "projects" like this on.  The "people" were already colored...I did that on my computer, before I printed them and have access to a color copier.

The KIDDOS glued on their sails and cotton.  Of course they are at the age the LOVE to glue items!!!  The "people" had double stick foam stickers on their backs...Makes it quick and easy to attach them!!  This project has a door that opens and closes to represent the storm STOPPING.  BTW, the entire time the KIDDOS are working on their projects, I am reviewing, asking questions, singing the song, singing the Memory Verse or answering questions.

I am thoroughly enjoying teaching through the Life of Christ.   I feel writing and prepping each LESSON helps me learn more and more about our LORD and I know the KIDDOS are learning so much about JESUS our LORD.

Blessings,

Ronda

PAWS-ITIVELY GOOD ATTENDANCE

This in our current ATTENDANCE CHARTS!!

The KIDDOS are adding dog themed stickers to their Attendance Charts.  I purchased the stickers at our local Dollar Tree.

I bought the dog bowl at the Dollar Tree.  It was easy to cut in half and add a sheet of cardstock to it...then attaching it to the bulletin board became super easy.

The KIDDOS attendance charts are printed from my computer.  I used a clipart picture that filled the purpose.

The Dog House and Dog, Paw Prints and Dog Bones are also clipart.  I just printed them in color, laminated them and put them on the board.

I love to have "unique" Attendance Boards.  I want them to be fun, encouraging, and exciting.  I think this one filled all of those!!

Hope you are encouraged to come up with fun and inviting ATTENDANCE boards.  Sometimes the best ideas come when just strolling through your local DOLLAR TREE, DOLLAR GENERAL, SCHOOL SUPPLY STORE, ETC.

PARABLE OF THE SOWER

Our continuing Exploration through the Life of Jesus Has brought us to the time when Jesus is Teaching in Parables.

The Parable we are learning about is the Parable of the four soils.

We added NEW CARDS to our DO You Know? Wall.  My Expectation is for the KIDDOS to be able to answer each of these by the end of the lesson.

Our  VISUAL  Aid for this lesson  was fun to make.
I have a dear friend, who gave me this wooden box with the four compartments, several years ago.  I believe it used to hold children's puzzles.

I used clay to make the "WAYSIDE."  I used pebbles for the "STONY" ground.  I used sand and dirt  with a mixture of wooden skewers (cut to small pieces) for the "THORNY" ground.   For the "GOOD GROUND" I used potting soil.  We used sunflower seeds for our seeds.  And my FARMER goes with a DOLLHOUSE set.

I added a bird, I purchased at Dollar Tree, to the "WAYSIDE."  I added the SUN and scorched plant to the "STONY" ground.  I added a bit of strange greenery to the "THORNY" ground.  I added sunflowers to the "GOOD GROUND."

The KIDDOS were in LOVE with this VISUAL!!!!  They loved seeing all the grounds and items that went with the grounds!!  It was a great touch and see VISUAL!!!!!

We also added a secondary VISUAL to our white board.

Each of the pictures  show the different types of soils.

The  bottom sign is our definition for Parable.  The KIDDOS need to understand that a PARABLE is and EARTHLY STORY with a HEAVENLY MEANING.

We had three new words to add to our WORD WALL.  I chose SOIL, SOWER & PARABLE.

Those are important words for the KIDDOS to understand for this lesson to make more sense to them.

We Added a NEW Card to our GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN Timeline!!

This is the SONG we learned with this lesson. This song is a little longer than most, but the KIDDOS all learned it and sang it very well!!

The  song can be heard by clicking the following link.  The SOWER song by Ronda Duvall

Our MEMORY VERSE  was   Mark 4:20!

To hear the MEMORY VERSE song click on this link.  Memory Verse Song Mark 4:20

The Kiddo's TAKE-HOME  project was a fun one!!   I premade all the little trays of the various soils...the project is made from cardstock...I printed the back picture on the cardstock, before assembling.  The KIDDOS added each SOIL, SEEDS and the LABELS to their project.  There is double sided foam tape on the back of each of the the soil trays and glue dots on the back of soil labels.

The little trays came from the very bottom of Gerber Baby Food Containers.  I just cut them down to make them very shallow.  The WAYSIDE, is air dried clay, I shaped it in the bottom of one of the baby food containers.

By premaking most of the activity it did not take very long to assemble them during Bible Class....I NEVER want our craft/activity to take up a lot of Bible Class time.

This KIDDOS loved the weeks  REVIEW Game!!

The KIDDOS answered a question from the lesson for the opportunity to toss the bean bag.....then the KIDDOS had to tell me what SOIL they landed on and WHAT happened in that SOIL.

It was a wonderful way to review all four soils and the outcome of the seeds that fell upon those soils.

This LESSON'S EXPLORER JOURNAL ACTIVITY was a fun one...the KIDDOS added stickers and glued on seeds to this activity.  I make the stickers from clipart using a sticker maker machine.  The KIDDOS always LOVE stickers and anything they get to glue.

We used sunflower seed for our seeds...they are easy for little hands to pick up and glue.

I am thoroughly enjoying teaching through the Life of Christ.   The KIDDOS are learning so much about JESUS our LORD.

Blessings,
