Our continuing Exploration through the Life of Jesus Has brought us to the time when Jesus is Preaching the Sermon on the Mount.
We did a previous lesson on the Beatitudes, Letting Our Light Shine and now we are learning about the GOLDEN RULE!! . We actually covered several topics in this lesson...but, we focused in on the GOLDEN RULE for our TAKE-HOME project, Memory Verse and Review Game.
We added NEW CARDS to our DO You Know? Wall. My Expectation is for the KIDDOS to be able to answer each of these by the end of the lesson.
The picture is from a Visual Story Set I purchased at Dollar Tree several years back. I have not seen them back in the store, however, if I ever find them again, I will make sure to let everyone know.
Those are important words for the KIDDOS to understand for this lesson to make more sense to them.
This is the SONG we had for the KIDDOS to learn with this Lesson.
The song can be heard by clicking the following link. The GOLDEN RULE SONG....BY RONDA DUVALL
To hear the MEMORY VERSE song click on this link. Matthew 7:12 Memory Verse
I painted them gold, added a bead nose, googly eyes, hands and feet.
THEY KIDDOS LOVED THESE LITTLE GOLDEN RULERS!!!
This week our REVIEW Game was a bit of a challenge and yet, fun at the same time. We played it two different ways!! It was all about "BUILDING" our GOLDEN RULER. The KIDDOS took turns at picking a "question RULER," answering the question, and laying down a piece of the GOLDEN RULER.
The first time we played this the BIG PIECES of the GOLDEN RULER were in order....the second time we played the game, we shuffled the pieces and let the KIDDOS work to figure out where their piece would go.
This was a challenge as I only have a few KIDDOS that are reading...so, we had to HELP with reading the words. I liked seeing them succeed with this harder challenge.
This LESSON'S EXPLORER JOURNAL ACTIVITY was a COMPILATION of the Sermon On The Mount. The KIDDOS added stickers to the correct boxes on the "MOUNTAIN."
I am thoroughly enjoying teaching through the Life of Christ. The KIDDOS are learning so much about JESUS our LORD.
Blessings,
Ronda
