A Bible Book Bag As A Special Surprise E.A.A.

The Kiddos had a SPECIAL SURPRISE as their E.A.A.  (Early Arrival Activity.)  I decided to give each of my Kiddos a "Special" bag.  I explained that this "Special" bag was their "BIBLE CLASS Bag."  I told them this bag was to come to Bible Class with them EVERY TIME they come to class.

I let them begin decorating them with fabric markers.....however, do to the fact that our E.A.A. time is limited to time before CLASS begins....I will have the markers in the classroom for the next few weeks.  That way they have PLENTY of time to decorate their Bible Class bag.   (When using MARKERS I give STERN RULES.  1.  WE SHARE!  2.  BE CAREFUL!  3.  ONLY USE THE MARKERS ON ITEM INTENDED!  4.  DO NOT DRAW ON YOURSELF OR ANYONE ELSE!)

I bought these bags at the local Dollar Tree.
Our new "HOME CONNECTION" Workbooks fit perfectly inside these bags.  SCORE!!!!!

The Kiddos were very excited about decorating their bag.  I hope that this will help with getting their Bible and Workbook from Home back to Bible Class....BTW, I gave each of my Kiddos a NEW SHARPENED Pencil...the pencils had a Scripture imprinted on them...I purchased them at Mardels.  They were very excited about the PENCILS.  It  is funny what excites the Kiddos.  They LOVE the simple things.  Things to call their OWN.

New Memory Verse Cards!!!

I decided to add a NEW WAY of tracking our Memory Verse Memorization.  Instead of hanging a MEMORY VERSE Chart up on the wall...We are going to hang them around our NECKS!!!!

The Kiddos will LOVE these!!!!  They love things that they get to wear!!!

Here is the plan.  Each time the children have their Memory Verse Memorized they will get a Smiley Face Sticker to place on one of the little BLACK dots on the border of their "I KNOW MY MEMORY VERSE" card.

I will take pics as time goes by...so that you can see how they progress.  I am excited about this new way of tracking their Memory Verse progress.

I made these up on my computer, then printed  the little cards out then laminated them, then attached them to a lanyard.  There is one for each of my kiddos.

I am hoping this will STIR some of our "older members" to ASK the Kiddos to tell them their Memory Verse!!!

I am always looking for fun and exciting ways to encourage Scripture Memorization!!!

Best Friends: David and Jonathan

I am EXTREMELY excited!!!!!!  My excitement stems from the fact that this upcoming Sunday begins my NEW Quarter with the KIDDOS.  We are continuing to EXPLORE Bible History.  We will be wearing our "Explorer Hats" and singing "We Are Bible Explorers."   We do this at the beginning of each NEW Quarter.

Since we left off with David and Goliath...we will be picking up with David and Jonathan.  I love the story of  David and Jonathan because it is truly a story of BEST friends.  We learn so much about TRUE friendship when we study the friendship of David and Jonathan.

Home Connection Workbook
We have a few NEW additions to this Quarter's Material. I have added a "HOME CONNECTION" Workbook.  I hope the Workbook will spawn more interaction between the parents and children as they review the lessons that they have learned.    I am looking forward to seeing the response to the new Workbook.  I will keep you posted on the reaction of both the PARENTS and the Kiddos.

Memory Verse Sticker Page
The inside of the Home Connection Workbook is fill with Puzzles, Memory Verse Work, Questions, etc.  I have also included a Memory Verse Sticker Page....The Kiddos will place a sticker in each square IF they know their Memory Verse.

Assigned on 1st Sunday
Assigned on 2nd Sunday
THIS is this weeks and next weeks Home Connection Workbook Pages.    The Kiddos will have from Sunday to Sunday to complete the pages.  (I am currently teaching each lesson for 2 weeks.)  The first week we introduce the lesson...the second week we will REVIEW the lesson, making sure the KIDDOS really understood what they learned.

Now on with what we will be doing during class THIS Sunday.    To introduce the lesson on David and Jonathan I am going to ask the KIDDOS if they know what the meaning of the word FRIENDSHIP.  We will add the word FRIEND to our WORD-WALL.  I will also, ask them if they know what the word JEALOUS means.  We will add that word to our WORD-WALL too.

We will have several CARDS to add to our Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How? WALL.  Because, I like to make sure the KIDDOS can answer these questions about our lessons we have a entire WALL of our Classroom dedicated to the Who? What? When? Where? and Why? of each lesson.

As we get into the story I will be using these visuals.  They were easily made...I used a clip art program, a bit of manipulation of the pictures then printed and laminated them.  Because, I wanted them to stand up,  I stuck them to these picture easels that I bought at the Dollar Tree.    I LOVE having eye catching VISUALS....  We will also be singing the song, "DAVID AND JONATHAN WERE BEST FRIENDS." by: rld.

The KIDDOS will be making their OWN Quiver as their TAKE HOME project.  These are made from PRINGLES and Yarn.  The arrows are made from a variety of colored cardstock.  Each arrow has a quality of GOOD FRIENDSHIP on it.  The kiddo will color and add the stickers.  I know the BOYS are going to be VERY EXCITED about this activity.  :)

Our Memory Verse is Proverbs 17:17.  I thought this was a PERFECT MEMORY VERSE for this lesson.  The KIDDOS get a MV card just like this one.  They can color the picture and take it home as a reminder of the need to MEMORIZE their Memory Verse.    During Class we will sing this to the tune:  Frere Jacques.

I have added a "NEW" place to our MAP.  I added "The Stone of Ezel" which is said to be in a field between Ramah and Nob.    I love having a KID friendly map up in our room.

Review Game is a BOW and ARROW Game!!!

Questions For Our Review Game

Target For Our Review Game
Our REVIEW game will surly be very exciting!!!  The kiddos will get an opportunity to SHOOT an ARROW!!!  My plans are for the kiddos to ANSWER one of the question from the lesson (I printed them on ARROWS to go along with the lesson.) after which they will get the
opportunity to shoot an arrow at the target!
(The bow and arrow are a nerf style product.  I purchased it at our local Walmart.)

Next Sunday we will be REVIEWING this lesson and doing our EXPLORER JOURNAL Activity!!!  The Explorer Journal Activity will consist of a Picture of David and Jonathan....the Kiddos will color it and add a BOW (made out of popcicle sticks) and a small arrow.

I LOVE their LOVE of their Explorer Journals.  I have had parents tell me that their past Explorer Journals have become some of their FAVORITE books to look through.  I love it because it takes all those projects that have a tendency to end up in the floorboard of the car or left behind in the pew and keeps them in a SPECIAL place for the children to TREASURE!

We are looking forward to an exciting Quarter.  Please keep checking back and see the exciting times we are having during BIBLE CLASS.

Blessings,

Ronda

Another Ealry Arrival Activity E. A. A.

We have a new E.A.A. (Early Arrival Activity) in our classroom and the KIDDOS LOVE it!!!.

This was a SUPER SIMPLE thing to do.  I just took OLD Visuals and attached them to MAGNETIC Sticker Sheets.  I purchased the Magnetic Sheets at our local Dollar Tree.    I also purchased our Magnetic Puzzle Trays (COOKIE SHEETS) at the Dollar Tree, too.   The kiddos like having their OWN Puzzle Tray...and I like the fact that all the Puzzle Pieces stay on the trays....NOT ALL OVER THE FLOOR.

I  coded each Puzzle Pouch with a "CLUE" question about the puzzle.   I ask the kiddos the question....if they do not know the answer before they put the puzzle together....I allow them to put the puzzle together and then try to answer the question.  Most of the time they KNOW the answer before they put the puzzle together.  :)

Almost Done!
Working Hard
Here is a pic of one of our Early Arrives.
He was excited about the NEW Early Arrival Activity.

He was successful in getting the puzzle put together....and when he held it up to show me... NONE OF THE PIECES FELL OFF THE TRAY!!!!!!!!

I love taking items that were useful in the past and giving them a NEW USE!!!  Check through your congregations "old" visuals and see if there are some you could use to make PUZZLES, GAMES, or REVIEWS.

Cubby Shelving Unit and Word Wall.

I LOVE finding bargains that fill a desire I have had for my Bible Class Room.  I recently found this shelving unit for $8.00 at a local Thrift Store.  I was extremely excited.  I had wanted the kiddos to have their own CUBBY (storage) and this perfectly fulfilled the desire.  I could hardly wait to get it into our classroom. I labeled each square with the kiddo's names.
The top of the shelving unit added some needed storage space near the door of our classroom.    We now store our "EXPLORER JOURNALS,"  our "WE LISTEN DURING WORSHIP" pages and GLOBE on top of the Cubby Unit.

I love having this near the door.....It also has given us a "WALL" near the white board...which is nice.  It helps keeps the kiddos in one area while we are doing "Carpet Time" activities.    As you can see, the back of the shelving unit was PERFECT for our "WORD WALL."  I love the fact that our "WORD WALL"  is at the KIDDO'S eye level.

Here is a close up of the "WORD WALL."  I LOVE THIS!!!!  And, for $8.00 this small shelving unit fills so many of our needs!!!!

Keep your eyes opened and always ask yourself, "Could this fill a need, want, or desire in my Bible Class?"  You will be amazed at what your find at places like Garage Sales, Thrift Stores and Dollar Tree.

Trash Into Treasure!!!!

I was out doing some Thrift Store Shopping recently and I found this "TREASURE."  I was so excited and immediately knew what I was going to do with it.  I knew I wanted to recode the game and turn it into a BIBLE Matching Game.

I knew one of my favorite clip art programs would be perfect for this project.  I used my computer program to size them to fit and then printed them on sticker paper.  Since I can not seem to cut a STRAIGHT line, My DH  cut them for me on the cutting machine.  :)  He is always so helpful.

Then the REAL work began.  I peel and stuck two of every picture to those tiny squares.  It was a labor of love....Because, I LOVED the reaction of the kiddos when they got to play it on Sunday.  (More about that later.)

I LOVE the clip art...and the kiddos really seem to enjoy this game.  You see, this is how we play the game.  In order to get to turn over pieces the kiddos have to answer a Bible Question.  It has been a great way to review Bible Facts.  The great thing is that we do NOT have to restart the game each Sunday.  I have just left the matches turned up right and we keep attempting to get them all turned over by the kiddos answering Bible questions and turning over the tiles.

Here is the completed board.  As you can see I have a few missing tiles....However, it does not stop us from using it as a way to review our Bible Facts.

I would like to encourage you to think about things you find at yard sales, thrift stores or even your child's toy box.  If you always keep in mind the question, "Could I turn this into something for Bible Class?"  you will be amazed at how many everyday objects become great TREASURES for teaching Bible Stories and Lessons.

New Theme for The Classroom.

We're WILD about Bible Class!!!!!!!!

I am so excited.  Life seems to be getting back to a "normal" state.  My husband says it is just the "NEW NORMAL."  I love my hubby...he keeps me grounded when life gets nutty.

I have been spending the last few days  updating my Bible Classroom!!

I decided to use a JUNGLE theme.  On the Door I included pictures of my students.  They LOVE seeing their pics. being used in a visual.  I think it helps give them the feeling of being IMPORTANT!!!  Which they are very important to me!!!  I found the little frames at our local Dollar Tree. Placed pictures of my students in them and attached them to the door using COMMAND HOOK.  I LOVE COMMAND HOOK!!!

I also found the Monkey on the vines and other vinyl wall clings at the Dollar Tree too.  Those are simple to use just PEEL and STICK.  :)

To go along with our JUNGLE THEME I made a new attendance chart.  The kiddos will add a JUNGLE animal to their attendance chart every time they come to class.    I LOVE new attendance charts. They just SCREAM..."fill me up with stickers by coming to class."

The kiddos saw the changes this past Wednesday Evening....can you say EXCITED!!!  Well, they were so excited....I love it when they are as excited as I am about changes in the classroom.

To add to the JUNGLE THEME I decided to hang some "SWINGING" Monkeys from the ceiling.  They are just for FUN!  I think they add to the atmosphere.

The Monkeys and vines came from Dollar Tree.

I LOVE changing things up for the kiddos.....It keeps them excited!!!!  I know I am "WILD" about Bible Class....and always want the kiddos to be excited about Bible Class too!!!!

I have a few more FUN ideas in the works.  Keep checking back as I hope to post them soon.
