REVIEW TIME!!! Creation-Tower of Babel

Today was our FIRST of two REVIEW DAYS!!  I, personally feel that REVIEW days are so beneficial.    It lets me ascertain the KIDDOS progress.  I want to make sure they understand what they have been learning.  I want to make sure they can tell me the stories in order.  I want to make sure they remember their MEMORY VERSES and I want to FILL in any "holes" in their understanding.

One of the ACTIVITIES we did was to have the KIDDOS pick an item out of the box and tell us what story it relates to and why it relates to that story.

But, in order to PICK something out of the box, the KIDDOS had to first answer a REVIEW QUESTION...I have about 50 different REVIEW QUESTIONS covering Creation-Tower of Babel.  :-)

I pulled out my foam number line. This allowed the KIDDOS can put the DAYS of Creation on the correct number.

Another Review Activity we did was  "PUT the BIBLE STORIES in sequential order" board.     This is a simple yet FUN activity for the KIDDOS.

This is what the board looked like when the KIDDOS arrived.  I asked the KIDDOS if the stories were in correct order...I wished you could have heard their very loud and very authoritative, "NO!"

So we cleared the board....btw, it is strips of velcro on the BOARD.   For the KIDDOS to get to help put the stories into correct order they had to answer one of my many. many  REVIEW questions.

REVIEW VISUALS are easy...I just use our PAST EXPLORER JOURNAL ACTIVITIES.  Since they are always on display---it makes it so convenient.

The KIDDOS TAKE HOME project was a very simple Memory Verse/Story REVIEW "GAME."   The idea behind this is for the KIDDOS to be able to MATCH the MEMORY VERSE to the CORRECT STORY.   MOST of my KIDDOS are NOT independent readers....so, it will be a game where PARENTS read the verse and the KIDDOS match the correct picture to the verse.

During class time the KIDDOS will be using my cookie sheets...I purchased a bunch of these at the Dollar Tree. We use them ALL the time.  They are great for magnetic games, individual activities, puzzles, etc.

I wanted to show you the magnets....to help keep cost down, I cut each little magnet in half.  The worked great!!!  They did not fall off the pans!!!  Save your pennies where you can.  :-)

I have these FUN zipper baggies...so, each KIDDO got one to put their pieces in for easy transport.  I did have one KIDDO who wanted to take home my cookie pans....until I told him he could put them up on his refrigerator and helps his brother's and sister's learn the Bible Stories and Memory Verses in order.

I will share their EXPLORER JOURNAL ACTIVITY soon.

Blessings,

Ronda

Sorry for the delayed posting of our Explorer Journal Activity.  The KIDDOS will be making these and adding them to their Explorer Journal.

I made the stickers by printing them on cardstock and then running them through my sticker maker. This will be a quick and fun activity for the KIDDOS.  They LOVE stickers!!

Cain and Abel Story Telling ACTIVITY

I wanted to SHARE with you all one more "FUN" activity we did with the KIDDOS, while teaching the story of Cain and Abel.

I have noticed that whenever the KIDDOS are having to LEARN multiple names and they happen to be the same gender, it gets kinda confusing.

So, we came up with an idea...

We had the KIDDOS pick a VEGETABLE and a SHEEP.  The sheep are puppets (I bought them a few years ago at the Dollar Tree--during the SPRING/EASTER season.) They WORE the SHEEP on one of their hands and held their VEGETABLE in the other hand.

Then as we told the story they would RAISE up the SHEEP if we said, "ABEL" and RAISE up their VEGETABLE when we said, "CAIN."   It was a great way to get the KIDDOS actively participating in the story.  It also helped with the confusion of:   WHO was a farmer?  WHO was a shepherd?

This worked out so well and the KIDDOS enjoyed it so much, I thought I would share it with you all.

Blessings,

Ronda

Cain and Abel

We are making progress.....we are learning about Cain and Abel. We are a bit behind, due to weather.  We have NEVER had to cancel services....but, a week ago we were covered in ICE.  It made for extremely dangerous driving conditions.  So, our elders decided it would be best to cancel services.  With that being said, I feel like I am behind....but, really it is all gonna be OK.

Here is our DO YOU KNOW? Wall...I feel the KIDDOS really "GET" the lesson when they are able to answer these IMPORTANT Questions.  Who? What? When? Where? Where in the Bible? Why? and HOW is this IMPORTANT to ME?

We have a "NEW" card on our GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN...timeline. It is CAIN and ABEL.

Our MEMORY VERSE for this Lesson is Romans 12:1.  We sang it to the tune: "Oh Come All Ye, Faithful."

I want the KIDDOS to understand that GOD WANTS our BEST...and we MUST GIVE HIM NO LESS!!!!!!

This is the SONG for this lesson.    However, while preparing this lesson, I came up with another song...we will be singing it, too!!

The NEW song is sung to the tune:  BINGO.

Eve and Adam had a son and CAIN was his name.
He was a farmer. He was a farmer.
He was a farmer, he raised vegetables.

Eve and Adam had a son and ABEL was his name.
He was a shepherd. He was a shepherd.
He was a shepherd, he cared for the sheep.

The VISUALS for this lesson are very simple. My CAIN and ABEL are Fisher Price Little People. They came from their Dinosaur set...but, as soon as I saw the one with the LEAF and one with an ANIMAL BONE---I thought CAIN and ABEL.    I added some vegetable (they are erasers and came from Dollar Tree) and some home made sheep from a lesson that I had taught a LOOONG time ago. The picture in the background was "self drawn."  I just looked at a drawing and did my best to "mimic" it.

Their TAKE HOME project is very simple....   They will color the background and add a POP UP Cain and Abel.

The REVIEW GAME for this Lesson is a "MATCH" game...The KIDDOS will answer a QUESTION to get the OPPORTUNITY to turn over a set of cards....IF they match they will have to tell me if the cards go with CAIN or with ABEL.

Next Sunday will be our REVIEW day...the KIDDOS will do their EXPLORER JOURNAL Activity.  For this ACTIVITY they will be adding rocks to their ALTARS and then the 3D Vegetables and Sheep.

The vegetables are from the DOLLHOUSE section of Hobby Lobby.  The sheep are toy plastic sheep.

I have one other IDEA to share with you....I will take PICTURES and add it to the website this next week.  Keep checking back.  :-)

Blessings,

Ronda

GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN BOXES!!! Box One----Before Time Began through the Tower of Babel

Before Time Began, GOD had a PLAN for MAN!  It is an AWESOME PLAN!!!

This is our  Before Time Began -Tower of Babel Box.

I wanted to have you PEEK in the box.  :-)

As you can see, we have all the MAJOR stories covered!   Creation to the Tower of Babel!  :-)

In the BOX we have toys/items to represent CREATION!   (These toys came from various sources---garage sales, thrift stores, kid meal toys, my son's toy box, etc.)

We have toys for the Garden of Eden. Notice we have a "Tree of Life" and a "Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil." We have a serpent --blech!  We have

We also have a Cain and Abel.  These came from my son's Little People set--it was a dinosaur set--As soon as I saw them I thought Cain (the one with the leaf) and Abel (the one with the bone.)  That is just the way I think.  LOL

Now for the story of Noah.  I added a Fisher Price Noah and Wife.  An Ark--this was supposed to be a Christmas Tree ornament.  A wooden Dove--I think I bought this at Hobby Lobby, and the SLINKY RAINBOW!!  The Rainbow was a gift from my friend Laura.  :-)

For the Tower of Babel I decided to make one....I made it out of foam cubes that I purchased at the Dollar Tree.

I hope you enjoyed the "TOUR" of our FIRST BOX of "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN" boxes.

Join me soon as we PEEK and see what is inside our NEXT BOX!!!

Blessings,
