Hezekiah Trust GOD!!

We are officially back to normal around here.  It is AMAZING what a VACATION and a NEW GRAND BABY can do to your schedule!!  But, it was soooo worth the "interruption."  We are have been so BLESSED.

While I was away the KIDDOS had a few REVIEWS and were allowed to "make" their favorite KING and PROPHET.  I was THRILLED at these projects!!!  I LOVE the KIDDOS reasoning for choosing the King/Prophet that they chose.

This SUNDAY we will have a BRAND NEW Lesson!!!!!  We are still learning about King Hezekiah, but this lesson is about his TRUSTING GOD!!  This comes from the events when Sennacherib was attempting to attack Judah.  Sennacherib had scare tactics and a LARGE army....Hezekiah was concerned and consulted Isaiah and GOD for help. This lesson is from 2 Kings 18-19.

We have a NEW card to add to our "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN" wall/timeline!

This picture represents King Hezekiah in the Temple, laying the letter from Sennacherib out and praying to GOD.

The KIDDOS will have a new word for our "WORD WALL."

This is an IMPORTANT word to know...it will help the KIDDOS understand the story.

I felt this was a PERFECT memory verse for this LESSON.  After all, that is what King Hezekiah did--He cast all his cares upon GOD.

If you would like to hear the TUNE for this Memory Verse, just click on the LINK below.  It will reroute you to the Facebook page for Hand On Bible Teacher.

We will be singing this song again for this lesson.  ONLY the FIRST VERSE.

If you would like to hear this song, click on the link.  It will take you to the Facebook Page of Hands On Bible Teacher.

I decided to make a "sandbox"
style visual aid.  I have each of the MAIN characters accounted for... Those with King Hezekiah:  Isaiah,
Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah.
Those with Sennacherib: Tartan, Rabsaris, and the Rabshakeh.

My plan is to MOVE the "Temple" forward and then add King Hezekiah in the praying position and the letter!

I could NOT find a visual aid for this lesson. So, I had to make them.  I HOPE the KIDDOS love them.

The KIDDOS will be making a type of PRAYER Book as their TAKE HOME project.

Each page of the BOOK has something we are supposed to be PRAYING about.

Our FAMILY!  The KIDDOS will be allowed to draw their family or add Smiley Face stickers to represent their family member.

Our FRIENDS!  Again, the KIDDOS will have the option of drawing their friends or using stickers.

Our LEADERS!  We have FOUR elders that we PRAY for and we PRAY for the LEADERS of our Country.    Again, the KIDDOS can DRAW or use stickers.

Our TEACHERS.  We pray for our Bible Class Teachers and our Teachers at School.

Our FEARS.   I want the KIDDOS to know that GOD cares about their fears.  Just like HE cared about Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem.   To represent some of our fears I drew DARKNESS, a Snake and a Spider.  I am not really afraid of the dark...but, WATCH out if their is a Snake or a Spider around me...I REALLLLY do not like either one of those creatures.

We Pray for the Sick and Weak.  I will have the KIDDOS add names to the fingers of people we know that are sick or weak.

We pray about our own Wants and Needs.

I am hoping to use this LESSON as an opportunity to STRESS the importance of PRAYER!!

Our Review Game is called:  "CASTING CARES - Ball Game."

The KIDDOS will each have the opportunity to toss a ball and then answer the question from the cup their ball lands in...I am sure you can see HOW easy this was to put together.  Muffin Pans from Dollar Tree, Balls from Dollar Tree and I just printed questions onto circles of various colors.

Next week the KIDDOS will be making this activity to add to their Explorer Journals.

They will add jewels to the crown and the
"LETTER" that Hezekiah spread out before GOD.   I have a paper "spring" attached to the backs of the "LETTERS" ----that gives them the 3D effect!!!

I am excited about this lesson---It will be NICE to be back to NORMAL Lessons and procedures!!!!  I am a BIG fan of normalcy.

Blessings,

Ronda

Hezekiah a GODLY KING of JUDAH

This week our  Lesson is about King Hezekiah.  We are focusing on Hezekiah having a HEART that LOVED GOD.

As you can see from the pic our Interactive Information WALL is BULGING with information.    I love how this WALL of information GROWS as we LEARN more and more of GOD'S WORD.

We have a KING HEZEKIAH card to add to our "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN" wall.

We have a NEW word for our WORD WALL.
Since Hezekiah PROSPERED,  I want the KIDDOS to know what the word Prospered means.

Our Memory Verse for this weeks lesson is Psalm 34:10.  I thought this would be a GOOD verse to go along with the lesson.  I will point out how Hezekiah sought GOD and he did not lack any good thing....So we must seek GOD and we will not lack any good thing.

We have a NEW SONG to learn with this lesson....We will sing this one several times over the next few weeks.

The KIDDOS  TAKE HOME activity is a type of MOBILE.  The KIDDOS will color the hearts and attach the hanging hearts to the BIGGER HEART.

Because,  I do not like for our TAKE HOME project to take up to much time....so, I have pre threaded the loops that form the chain....that way during class time the KIDDOS will just need to color and then slip it though the slit on the the BIG heart and staple it together.  :-)

The KIDDOS will be playing this "Pin The Tale On" type game as our REVIEW GAME.  Each KIDDOS will have an opportunity to PIN on Hezekiah's Heart after answering a question from the lesson.

I have 3 different masks from the KIDDOS to wear.  Normally they choose the Monkey of Bear....they LOVE it when I get out the MASKS.  :-)

Next week, during our REVIEW DAY the KIDDOS will be doing this activity for their EXPLORER JOURNAL activity. They will color King Hezekiah and then add Jewels to Hezekiah's Crown and a 3D heart sticker that say "LOVES GOD."

I am looking forward to teaching this lesson this SUNDAY.  The KIDDOS LOVE learning about a GODLY KING!!!!

Blessings,

Ronda

Milk Cap Mania!!! Memorizing the Books of The Bible Using Milk Caps!!!

I know I have posted about this before....but, I wanted to give you a PROGRESS UPDATE!!

Click on this link to see the previous post Memorizing The BOOKS OF THE BIBLE using MILK CAPS!!

I am THRILLED with the KIDDOS progress in Memorizing the BOOKS of THE BIBLE!!!  They are all doing sooo well.    It AMAZES me when I see them get so excited to "EARN" their NEXT Milk Cap.  Proves to me that SIMPLE things are meaningful!

This is our PROCEDURE.  The KIDDOS pick up their MILK CAPS from the TABLE after they put their ATTENDANCE STICKER (BUGS) onto their Attendance Chart.

Once the KIDDOS return to the "TEACHING TABLE"  they pour the caps out on to the table and begin putting the Milk Caps in ORDER.  Some of the KIDDOS (mainly my very young ones) still need a bit of help with this activity....BUT, they are GETTING IT!!!  Plus,  they are able to SAY all the BOOKS in ORDER!!!

Once all of the KIDDOS have their CAPS in the correct order we say the BOOKS as a CLASS.  We point to each BOOK as we say its name.

Then we "figure" out what the next Book of The Bible is....some of my older KIDDOS are really good helpers with this procedure.   Then I pass out the NEWEST Milk Cap to the KIDDOS.  They place it where it belongs.  We then SAY the Books together AGAIN.  (If I have time---I will have the KIDDOS say them individually.)

Then we say them ONE MORE TIME...But, this time we are placing the caps into our MILK CAP CONTAINER!!

Currently, the KIDDOS have the 5 Books of Law, the 12 Books of History, and the 5 Books of Poetry Memorized.

Each MILK CAP set is unique in COLOR.  However, I do make sure that each "Division" is in a new color cap for each KIDDO.

This week we begin working on getting the 5 Major Prophets Memorized!!

All the CAPS are ready!!!  The KIDDOS earn a CAP a week.  But, to earn the cap they have to be able to say the books up to the last CAP received.

This Memorization Reward System has been so exciting.

I LOVE how excited the KIDDOS are about  earning their next MILK CAP.

I Love that the members of the Congregation are so willing to save and donate their CAPS.

I Love that the Similac Containers were donated by one of our young families.

I Love how something so inexpensive can be so exciting to the KIDDOS.  They are WORKING so hard to get the Books of The Bible Memorized!!!

Hope this excites you to do something SIMPLE and YET EFFECTIVE for your KIDDOS.  Milk Caps have so many possibilities.  Apostles, 10 Commandments, Be-attitudes, Attributes of Love 1 Cor. 13., Fruit of The Spirit, Armor of GOD, Sons of Jacob, etc.

Blessings,

Ronda
