"Burning Bush"...in my classroom

Been busy....Sunday will be an amazing day. I can not wait for the children to come to class this Sunday...I think I say that every week....I get so excited about all that they are learning from God's Word.

We now have a "Burning Bush" in my classroom....The children will get to add the flames by answering questions from the Bible story. This should prove to be a exciting way to review what they learned from the story. I believe no real learning has taken place if they can't tell you something from the story. Review "games" are a great way to see if they really learned the story/lesson. I am very big on Reviewing with my students. I do it each week in a form of a "game."

Well, my newsletter has been printed, their activities are ready, memory verse cards are copied and cut out, the Who? What? When? Where? Why? and How? wall has been updated, and our "God's Awesome Plan for Man" wall has a new story added....now I pray and review until Sunday AM so that I will be able to impart God's Amazing Stories to the children.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend and an OUTSTANDING Bible Class this Sunday.

Remember, Let your Light Shine Brightly for the Son is it's source.

Today Was a Busy Prep and Writing Day

Today was spent writing materials on "Spying out Canaan." I also worked on visual aids, Take Home Projects, Explorer Journal Projects, and Review Games.

I then spent a little time finalizing my prepping for Sunday's class...Lots of cutting and organizing. I will be adding pictures tomorrow---after I get things hung up on the walls in the room.

Since we are studying about Moses and the Burning Bush....I want everyone to know I will NOT be using REAL FIRE during the teaching of this lesson. :-) However, we will have a "Burning Bush" that the children will help "put ablaze" by answering review questions from the lesson.

Hope you have read the Bible with your child this week. Check Back For Pics.

Blessings.

Preparing for Next Lesson On Moses....Moses and the Burning Bush

Today I spent my time prepping for next Sunday and Wednesday...My students will be learning the story of Moses and the Burning Bush....I have prepared the "Take Home" for Sunday. I have prepared the Explorer Journal Activity for next Wednesday and copied their New Memory Verse cards.

This Sunday they will be making a Mt. Horeb diorama. They will add Moses, the burning bush, and Moses sandals.

On Wednesday they will be making their Explorer Journal Activity....they will add the 3D sandals, the cotton beard and the fire to the bush.

I am looking forward to teaching the children this lesson. It is sooooo amazing.
More about this lesson as I prep for teaching it this week.

Baby Moses story came to life today

Today we began our new material. We are Exploring the book of Exodus. The children were amazed as they walked in the door and found "baby Moses" floating on the "river Nile" in our classroom. They were immediately excited about what we were going to be doing in class today.

I did not change our "sequence of events" during class time. We started with attendance, then prayer, then Bible facts and songs, then STORY TIME, and then take home activity time, introduce their new memory verse, Review game, gather all belongings, hugs and bye. We are busy from the minute they walk into the classroom.

The students loved the Take Home activity....even the boys like their little baby Moses. And they all LOVED playing the review game, "Moving Moses Up the River." They all had an opportunity to be "Miriam" watching over Moses....they answered a question and then got to move Moses and the basket up the "river."

I love to see the children get excited about learning Bible stories.....and today the smile spoke sooo loudly to me heart. I thank God that I was able to be there today and see their excitement. My prayer is that they will always be excited about learning Bible truths.

Review Game

This is the review game my students will be playing on Sunday and Wednesday this week. They will attempt to move Moses down the river and through the "Bullrushes" by answering questions from the lesson on Baby Moses.

Since this is a Preschool to 1st grade class we will do this as a cooperative class activity. Each child will have a turn. That way there will be NO competition....we will all be moving Moses by answering the questions.

This is a great way to use a VISUAL as a REVIEW SYSTEM. The visual impact is wonderful, but being able to get the kiddos hands busy moving Moses and answering questions will help them remember this story,

This was not hard to make. The water is poster board. I traced the basket (which I bought years ago at a garage sale) and added "bullrushes" by cutting out green grass from poster paper. I laminated the "bullrushes" for longevity. I attached my "bullrushes" to foam core board that I cut into an "A" frame shape. Easy Project with Lots of Punch!!!!!!

Mighty Moses

We are beginning our new lessons this Sunday. We are going to be Exploring the Book of Exodus. I am sooo excited!!!

I have spent most of today working on the. students materials for this Sunday and next Wednesday. I have printed, copied, cut out, gathered needed items, etc.

I have also prepared their new Memory Verse sticker page. This quarter we are going to be sticking on explorer type items to a back pack. Please see the pictures.

The children will get a NEW EXPLORER JOURNAL (it is green) for the study through Exodus.

I have also been working on getting all my visuals, review games, etc. ready for Sunday Morning. It is amazing how fast a week seems
to fly by when you are attempting to ready the room and get the
new materials ready for the kids.

Hope you are enjoying the pictures. I'll be posting a few more later this week.

Teaching Children the Bible is an Honor.

Sound on Video

We are working on the Sound for the Workshop Videos. The seminar sessions are a little hard to hear right now. I am having my "tech guy" (my hubby) check into why it is so soft. However, the Tour of Tables videos have great sound. Please enjoy them. Thanks for your patience.

Blessings.

Working on Classroom Redo

Today I spent about 4 hours working on redoing my Bible Class Room. I had to take down items that will not be used in the next 13 weeks and replace them with items we will be using and referring to over the next 13 weeks. I am not finished with the room yet....I will be post pics as soon as possible.

We are getting ready to start Exodus. We are going to have a lot of fun Exploring the book of Exodus and learning all about the History of Moses and the Hebrews. I have several ideas that I can't wait to do with the children. I know they are going to enjoy this new adventure .

These are pictures of my room as I am making progress with the redo. I have put up a new interactive map of the Hebrew's Exodus. We have a new visual of Moses and the 10 Commandments up on the wall. My story of Moses' life flip pictures have been hung on my table side easel. Tomorrow, I still have so much more to do.

Check back to see the progress of this transformation.

God Bless.

A change in format for website.

Hi there,

I am in the process of changing the format of the Hands On Bible Teacher website. Due to my busy life this seems to be the easiest way for me to update this website. I am a very busy mom, grandmother, preacher's wife, and Bible class teacher.

I will be attempting to update this website with pictures, ideas, and updates on what I am doing in Bible class or a regular basis. I am currently in the process of writing a Preschool-1st grade curriculum called Exploring Bible History. I am attempting to come up with all the activities, memory verses, visuals, review games, songs, etc. It is a very time consuming and rewarding undertaking.

I would love to hear from you. If you like an idea let me know. If you don't like an idea I am opened to hearing that too. Remember, my goal is to help children learn the Bible. I want them to come to understand the THEME of Mans Salvation that runs throughout the entire Bible.

Teaching Bible class is an HONOR, because I am teaching life altering materials.
